The US allocated $18.3 million in medical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Ukraine has received a total of about $18.3 million in humanitarian aid from the United States.the money should be used to improve health and mitigate the socio-economic consequences of the pandemic. This is stated on the website of the US state Department.

The funds are intended to reduce the impact of the coronavirus on the conflict-affected residents of Eastern Ukraine. In total, as the state Department noted, the state authorities over the past 20 years have sent Ukraine about $5 billion in General assistance.

Thus, Ukraine will receive more from the United States to fight COVID-19 than other post-Soviet republics. For example, Azerbaijan was allocated about $5 million, Georgia-about $3.3 million, Armenia-about $4 million, Belarus – $1.7 million. Russia is also on the list of countries that the United States helped during the pandemic — as specified in the message, the States gave it 200 ventilators.
